Use a smoothing capacitor after D1: C >= Iload / (2 x f_ripple x Vripple). For a 50 Hz mains half-wave, the ripple frequency is 50 Hz. Example: 100 mA load, allowable Vripple 1 V gives C >= 100 mA / (2 x 50 Hz x 1 V) = 1 mF (1000 uF).
