Pack each IC in conductive foam, place foam in a metalised bag, add a desiccant sachet, then wrap with 20-30 mm of bubble wrap. Use a small padded envelope or a 150 x 100 x 50 mm box. Estimated added weight: 50-100 g, declared value: e.g., R500. Label package as ESD-sensitive.
Group resistors/capacitors in labelled small bags, put PCBs in anti-static shielding bags, place heavier items (transformers, aluminium enclosures) separate from fragile parts using cardboard dividers. Use a medium box and ensure total weight distribution avoids crushing smaller compartments.
Rule of thumb: ensure at least 25 mm clearance of cushioning on all sides inside the outer box. For box internal dimension B, component envelope dimension C, required cushion thickness per side t = (B - C)/2. Choose t >= 25 mm for fragile or ESD-protected items.
