Example 2 - 230 V AC bench supply rated 3 A continuous: choose an MCB or fuse rated 4 A with appropriate breaking capacity. If the installation is in a lab with sensitive electronics, add an upstream MCB (curve B for resistive loads, C or D for inductive/motor loads) and local PCB PTCs for USB or signal lines.
